Once upon a time, I heard this rumor that Microsoft was looking to open retail stores to compete with the tremendous success that is Apple retail. Once upon a time I heard that the whole ‘ballon boy’ thing was a hoax. As it turns out, and to my surprise, they were/are both true. Now I’m not going to waste one more second of my life, or yours for that matter talking about this ballon boy crap, so I’ll move on to Microsoft retail stores.

So it’s pretty much common knowledge by now that Microsoft has been a dying giant. I guess that’s what happens when you build one of the most flawed and primitive operating systems ever (pre-Windows 7, everyone says that thing is the messiah or something), HOWEVER..I guess the times are-a-changin’. With new commercials that are really funny and relatable (”Macs are fun..but they’re just wayyyy to fancy-shmacy for me…this 57lbs Toshiba with a fingerprint scanner and crap is just right for me!”), a new logo that looks like it was designed by a 4 year old with access to legos, and now introducing super cool retail stores with glass walls and staff that wear different colored shirts, things are staring to look up.

Here’s how it is. This is pathetic. Windows 7 = OS X , and Microsoft retail stores = an exact replica of Apple retail stores. In any other aspect of business this would be insulting. Frustration peaking..must stop writing. Have a look for yourself, and see if you can figure out which ones which. Also, if you have 5 minutes of your life you want to throw away, watch the video of the grand opening, and compare to the grand opening of an Apple retail store…I think I know what Steve Jobs has been doing for the past 6 months….just saying.
