I love T.V. – That being said, I love commercials. There’s nothing better than getting the feeling that you’re being persuaded to buy or do something you just do not want. It can be said that it all started with a saint of man which we all knew as Sir Billy Mays, then there was Vince and his wizardry with a mere shammy towel that he portrayed as some form of alien technology. But it seems now-a-days all these big wig companies are turning the age old art of attempting to produce a decent commercial with the end result being a complete piece of crap, and DOING IT ON PURPOSE. Now I may not be the smartest man in the world..(even though I am)..but I hate being tricked.

Thank god there’s still people out there keeping the art of making a crappy commercial, true. I don’t know about you, but I would sure as hell buy a car from a Cuban gynecologists over a ‘trained salesman’ any day. Have a good weekend.

Do you like vulgar and obscene humor? Hell, I’m sure most of you do. With that being said, I would like to point out to the people the people that answered yes, a great television show that I recently started watching.

Now I am sure that a lot of you have most likely seen or heard about this show, but I’m a guy that is resistant to change and kind of unwilling to try new things (such as watching a television show that doesn’t immediately peak my interest aka Grey’s Anatomy). However, the other day I hung out with a friend who brought over the first three seasons of some show called It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Now let me tell you, I have heard of this show, but I never really gave it a chance. All I can say is that I have been missing out on some of the funniest moments in television history. The premise of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is five narcissistic douche bags that run an unpopular bar in Philadelphia. These five individuals always seem to get into situations that involve racism, exploitation, and hysteria that relate to controversial issues. If I could best describe this show, it would be like if South Park met Curb Your Enthusiasm (Larry David would have Cartman’s body). It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia airs on Thursdays at 10 p.m. on FX. This definitely one of my new favorite shows. I mean, how could you not laugh at Danny DeVito? The man is like a baby that drinks, a personal fantasy of mine. Check out the clip below for a free sample.

So now that all the hype over The Wild Things (Where the Wild Things Are nick name) is coming to an end, did the film meet it’s expectations? It’s one of the most celebrated children books of all time, turned into a feature film. Spike Jonze, the director, had a huge task to accomplish – to take forty-eight pages of genius and stretch it out into a hundred minute film. Spike Jonze put his own style on the story but kept the same visual appeal/effect that the book provided. The film wasn’t meant to be a movie only for kids – best said by Spike Jonze, it was more of a “kid in an action movie.” The movie turned out to be more depressing than the book, but personally I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. The world we live in today is a bit gloomy but it’s the reality and a film should be able to portray honesty and truth – shouldn’t it? Parents that take their children to see this movie might be a bit taken back by it, maybe because it’s not as happy of a film as they had expected but in the end it could be beneficial to them. The film shows the other side to child hood, the not so fun part that a lot of us have gone through. Children can relate to this not so perfect life where parents are divorced and money is short. In the end, the care that Spike Jonze showed for Maurice Sendaks book was simply magnificent. The lighting and cinematography was stunning, the surreal landscapes where the wild things lived and played felt so real and by the middle of the movie, the wild things become so normal/attached you almost forget that they are actually humans wearing suites. The film teaches children an important lesson and if I had children, I would take them to see it on opening night. In conclusion, YES! – the movie meets it’s expectations… now go see it.

So unless you’ve been under a rock for the past 4 months, you are more than likely well versed in this whole M.J. thing, whatever it is. Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved the guys’ music as much as the next person, but this is almost kind of ridiculous. First the whole ‘being on the news everyday, ever hour, all the time’ thing, then he was buried. While this would have signaled the end of the media circus for any other deceased-media saturated human being, Mr. Jackson was different. We went ahead and proved he o.d.-ed, like 2 months after we all knew he did. Then we got a little break…UNTIL…the production company that financed what would have been his last world tour, got pissed that he died and they weren’t going to make any money, so they decided to take some footage that was recorded during some rehearsal or something, throw in some bells and whistles and just a pinch of Hollywood magic, and sell it as a movie (that will more than likely make 37042374230897412 million dollars.)

Imagine if they did something like this when you died.

I’d be like “What’s these peoples deal..isn’t like Real Chance of Love 43 on or something? Please leave me alone.” I like to think that’s what Michael says every time one of those stupid commercials pass on T.V. But hey, who am I? Why wouldn’t you pay $8.75 to go see an icon rehearsing to satisfy the publics need for a little Michael Madness?

Despite the fact that I will be turning 21 within a couple of short months, I, like so many other individuals (you know who you are), enjoy the guilty pleasure of watching cartoons. With that being said, my favorite animated television show is returning with a brand spankin’ new season.

With just a few days remaining, Adult Swim will begin to air season four of “Venture Bros.” This show is great on so many levels. For starters, “Venture Bros.” (in my opinion), is one of the best drawn, illustrated, and animated series throughout cartoon history. Beyond the show’s aesthetic wonder, “Venture Bros.” is a hilarious spoof on Johnny Quest, Scooby Doo, and The Hardy Boys that maintains an exciting and action-packed storyline.

The new season of “Venture Bros.” premiers October 18 at midnight on Cartoon Network (Adult Swim). Here is a little preview of season four. “Go Team Venture!”

Finding a new and amusing television show is quite uncommon, especially in today’s world of entertainment. After flipping through the channels of the same boring sitcoms, I happened to stumble across one that grabbed my immediate attention. I found Jason Schwartzman (lead singer of Coconut Records), starring in his own show, “Bored to Death”.

After watching only five minutes of awkward yet priceless hilarity, I could not help myself but to catch up on any episodes that I missed out on. Much to my surprise, only four episodes of “Bored to Death” have aired. Unfortunately, I am caught up with the show and now have to wait a week for a new episode to premiere.

The premise of this “noir-otic comedy” is about an uprising writer named Jonathan Ames, (Jason Schwartzman) who cannot manage to find any influence or creativity in writing his second novel. Jonathan’s writer’s block leads him to drinking an abundant amount of alcohol, smoking quite a bit of marijuana, and being just plain bored to death. After browsing some of his old books, Jonathan found a detective themed novel that inspired him to put an ad on “Craigslist” as a private detective. Surely enough, Jonathon received a reply for the ad, and has worked as an unlicensed detective as a hobby ever since that special day. “Bored to Death” airs Sundays, 9:30 p.m. only on HBO. If you are ever having a boring day, this show will definitely indulge your need for entertainment.
